Samsung Smartview 2 is an Android app that will allow you to connect your mobile phone with a Samsung Smart TV so the pair can benefit from each other. The line between televisions and mobile devices is already starting to blur, and now this app provides a way to blur that line even further. It costs nothing to download, and it provides numerous utilities, like the ability to use your phone as a remote control and the ability to watch content from your phone on your TV.

This app can be thought of as an expansion to the functionality of your Samsung Smart TV. It should certainly be the default option for those that want to have their TV interact with their smartphone, and it offers several features that make your TV seem even more futuristic than it already does.

Content sharing is one of the main features of this app. Videos, music, and photos on your Android device can be played and viewed on the connected TV. This is perfect for times when you have something on your phone you want to share with a group, or if you have no way to access the content through your TV as it is.

Next is the remote control feature, which basically transforms your Android device into an effective remote control for the TV. This is perfect for times when the actual remote is too far away, or if there happens to be a disagreement over who should control the TV. Anyone connected to the TV through Samsung Smartview 2 can operate the native features of the set.

In terms of other features that increase usability, the app also provides users with the opportunity to create content playlists. This makes displaying content from your phone much easier to manage, and you'll definitely want to try out the streaming feature. Anything ported to the TV set is given a boost in visual quality, and the presence of a home network will create a strong connection between the two devices that won't lag or stutter.

The app is easily navigable since it uses a minimalist style with large text and simple options, and connecting your TV to your phone is relatively simple. Even with a private home network, you can still pair the two over a single WiFi network, and almost everyone has some form of WiFi if they are also using a Smart TV. The instructions for pairing the two devices are a bit limited, but anyone with some experience setting up technology should have no issue. It should be noted that only certain Samsung Smart TVs are supported. Using the remote control feature also allows the user to enter text via their phone keyboard instead of with the digital keyboard that must be slowly controlled by the factory remote control.
